Job summary

Northside Hospital in Atlanta is seeking a Medical Technologist II to develop and monitor test systems and perform and interpret laboratory tests across neonatal to geriatric patients.

The position requires a qualifying degree and certification, clinical laboratory experience, and strong communication skills to ensure accurate results and compliant workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and eligible for certification examination (ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS).
• Associates degree with MT/MLT/CLS certification from an accredited program.
• Military program graduate with health science background and MT/MLT/CLS certification.
• Grandfathered MT with prior qualification and current MT/MLT/CLS certification.
• One year experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to standards and regulations.
• Color-Acuity screening test.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor test systems and perform and interpret laboratory tests.
• Cover neonate to geriatric patient testing to support diagnosis and care.

The Medical Technologist II develops and monitors test systems and performs and interprets laboratory tests for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.

REQUIRED

1. Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and applicants must be eligible for an appropriate certification examination.
   1. Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

1. Associates Degree in laboratory science (Chemical or Biological Science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
   1. Acceptable certifying agencies include: ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

1. Graduate of a Military Program in Science (health science, biology, chemical, physical, medical technology) and certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist.
2. Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW)

OR

1. Grandfathered Medical Technologist by having previously qualified as a technologist on or before February 28, 1992 and current certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist. 1.Acceptable certifying agencies include ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HHS (HEW
