Job summary

CLS Labcorp Central Laboratory Services Limited Partnership in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Medical Technologist II to join the Core Automated Testing Department. The role focuses on specimen acceptance, routine and complex testing, and maintaining quality control in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science and at least three years of clinical laboratory testing experience; ASCP/AMT certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Labcorp is seeking a Medical Technologist II to join our Core Automated Testing Department in Indianapolis, IN.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, Tuesday-Saturday (Alternating) 2-10:30pm

Job Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• Three years or more of clinical laboratory testing experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Six months or more of core automated testing experience
• Six months or more of core lab experience
• ASCP or AMT certification

Additional Job Standards

• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems
• High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

Sign-on Bonus $7,500

Internal Employees Not Eligible for Sign-on Bonus
