Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Medical Technologist I to join its Vaccines team in Indianapolis, IN. The position runs Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm, with responsibilities spanning specimen acceptance, testing, instrumentation upkeep and accurate result reporting.

Minimum qualification is a Bachelor's in a chemical/biological science or MLS, with 6–12 months of lab testing experience. Preferences include ASCP/AMT certification and 2 years of experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or MLS-equivalent meeting state regulations.
  • Six months to one year of clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree.
  • ASCP or AMT certification preferred (not required).

  • Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs.
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure functionality.

Labcorp is seeking a Medical Technologist I to join our Vaccines team in Indianapolis, IN. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm.

Responsibilities
  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Resolve pendings. Retrieve and check specimens against pending list. Document specimen discrepancies. Notify laboratory management when specimen discrepancies are not resolved.
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  • Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Comply with regulatory guidelines and Labcorp SOPs at all times.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or a non-traditional Bachelor’s degree that meets local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
  • Minimum six months to 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience or an MLS degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ASCP or AMT certification.
  • Two years clinical testing experience.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
  • High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.

  • Pay Range: All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
  • Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, STD/LTD, 401(k), PTO or FTO, tuition reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
