Medical Technologist I Part Time Evenings

Job Description

Under general supervision, performs quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests on patient specimens according to standard formulas and procedures.

• Analyzes test results, prepares samples, calculates findings, and maintains records.
• Prepares and validates solutions, reagents, media stains, and other materials.
• Processes and tests all types of laboratory specimens, reviews and reports results, and performs maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. Acts as a resource to other laboratory personnel.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an approved institution or equivalent military training as defined by 42 CFR 493.1489, or qualified at the Medical Technologist level via HHS examination prior to 2/28/92, meeting CLIA regulations for High Complexity testing.
• Prefer 6 months to 1 year of medical laboratory technologist or clinical laboratory scientist experience in an acute care setting.
• Registered or registry eligible with an approved certifying agency (ASCP, NCA, AMT, or CSMLS within 12 months of hire). Non-US trained personnel must complete equivalency evaluation within 30 days of hire. State licensure as required.
