Position Statement/Position Summary: The Ultrasound Technologist I performs Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound procedures following established standards of the Radiology Department, under the supervision of the Radiologist. Must distinguish normal from abnormal anatomical findings and demonstrate the ability to record the most appropriate images for correct interpretation. Medical Sonographer I are sonographers with 2 or fewer specialty certifications through ARDMS.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: One year of ultrasound experience preferred. Hospital setting experience is preferred. Pediatric experience of at least 2 years is preferred. Ability to perform diagnostic sonographic examinations.
Education/Licensure/Certification: Must be a graduate of an accredited ultrasound school. ARDMS certification or eligibility, CPR certification, and 1-2 specialty certifications are required.
