Job summary

StartupNWA in Siloam Springs, AR is seeking a PRN Medical Laboratory Technologist to perform moderate and high complexity tests on blood and fluids under minimal supervision.

You will ensure quality controls, maintain records, and assist with instrument maintenance. Teaching and urine drug screen collection may be involved.

ASCP/MT certification and a Bachelor’s in medical technology are preferred; one year acute care experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• MT/MLS (ASCP), MT (AMT), CLS (NCA), HEW or equivalent certification.
• Bachelor's in medical technology from an accredited institution.
• One year acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on all types of blood and body fluid specimens under minimal supervision.
• Maintains records and statistical data according to regulative requirements.
• Performs instrument function checks and preventative maintenance procedures according to department's policies and procedures.

What You'll Do

Performs routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on all types of blood and body fluid specimens under minimal supervision. Insures accurate and reliable test results by adhering to a strict quality control program. Performs instrument function checks and preventative maintenance procedures according to department's policies and procedures. Maintains records and statistical data according to regulative requirements. Teaches new employees and students laboratory policies and procedures. Collects chain of custody urine drug screens as required. Assists as needed in all laboratory areas as required to maintain appropriate patient care.

Preferred Requirements

• MT/MLS (ASCP), MT (AMT), CLS (NCA), HEW or equivalent certification
• Bachelor's in medical technology from an accredited institution
• One year acute care experience
