Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) in Boston seeks a Medical Technologist to support Hematology and Microbiology labs. Schedule: Evenings 32 Hours/Rotating Weekends and Holidays.

Under CLIA ’88, provides ancillary support by performing moderate and high complexity clinical laboratory tests with interpretation. Responsibilities include test interpretation, specimen labeling accuracy, accessioning, LIS documentation, QC procedures, and collaboration with staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science with supervised internship.
• Certification by ASCP/NCA or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and high complexity tests and interpret results.
• Ensure accurate specimen identification and labeling.
• Accession tests, perform instrument maintenance, and provide quality control data.
• Communicate test results and issues to colleagues and supervisors.
• Maintain documentation in LIS and adhere to safety and HIPAA policies.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Medial Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field including supervised clinical internship
