Job summary

Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is seeking a Medical Technologist to serve as a generalist across Chemistry, Hematology, and Blood Bank. The role emphasizes accurate diagnostic testing, patient-centered care, and adherence to quality and safety standards in a hospital lab setting.

The candidate will perform diverse laboratory procedures, maintain equipment, and collaborate with clinical teams to support diagnosis and treatment decisions. Full-time, day shift, on-site at our Bucks County facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• Baccalaureate in biology or chemistry with required biology/chemistry credits and certification training.
• Master’s or doctorate in chemistry, biology, immunology, or clinical laboratory sciences preferred.
• Eligible for ASCP Technologist certification (BB, C, CG, CT, H, HTL, MLS, M, MB).
• Bachelor’s MT (ASCP) certification or eligible.
• Certified MT (HEW).
• Certified MT (AMT).

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic laboratory tests across Chemistry, Hematology, and Blood Bank.
• Deliver high-quality patient care with independent judgment and safety awareness.
• Support diverse testing workflows as Generalist in multiple departments.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology

Baccalaureate degree with major in biological science or chemistry

Master’s or doctorate in chemistry, biology, immunology, or related field (preferred)

ASCP Technologist certification eligibility (BB, C, CG, CT, H, HTL, MLS, M, MB)

MT (ASCP) certification eligibility (Bachelor’s)

Description

Medical Technologist conducts diagnostic laboratory tests that are important in detecting, analyzing and treating a wide variety of diseases and medical conditions. Microscopes, chemicals, precision tools, analyzers and computer equipment are used by Medical Technologists to perform tests that give doctors and patients detailed information about various conditions, including the progress and prognosis of the patient. A Medical Technologist performs standard laboratory procedures requiring a broad use of independent judgment and responsibility, consistently providing high quality patient care. Candidate will work as a Generalist in multiple departments (Chemistry, Hematology, and Blood Bank).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology
• Baccalaureate degree with a major in biological science or chemistry, or baccalaureate degree with a combination of 30 semester hours of biology, chemistry and/or medical sciences, AND meet the training and/or experience requirements for the specific certification
• Master’s or doctorate in chemistry, biology, immunology, immunohematology, microbiology, allied health, clinical laboratory sciences or an appropriately related field (preferred)
• Possess or be eligible for Technologist certification (BB, C, CG, CT, H, HTL, MLS, M, MB) by ASCP
• With Bachelor's; MT (ASCP) certification or eligible.
• Certified as MT (HEW)
• Certified as MT (AMT)
