Job summary

Deborah Heart and Lung Center is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform routine and specialized diagnostics across Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Blood Bank and Microbiology. The role includes supervising duties and training new hires as needed.

The position requires 1 year of clinical lab experience or equivalent, with ASCP/ASMT/HHS/ASPT certifications preferred and Board-eligibility for MT/MLT. Evening shifts with rotating weekends and holidays are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate of Science degree in Medical Technology, Medical Lab Sciences or related field.
• ASCP/ASMT/NCA/HHS/ASPT and other related certification preferred; Board-eligible for MT or MLT certification.
• Excellent customer service skills, computer, math, verbal, reasoning and written skills at college level.
• Requires instrumentation and manual skills which require practice to become proficient, routinely acquired during the training period.
• Experience: Preferred 1 year experience working in a clinical laboratory as a Medical Technologist

Description

Position Summary: Performs routine and special diagnostics testing and lab procedures in various specialty sections of the Clinical Laboratory in a prompt, accurate and reliable manner according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. These specialty sections include Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Blood Bank and Microbiology. On occasion will serve as a general supervisor and assists in training new hires.

Experience: Preferred 1 year experience working in a clinical laboratory as a Medical Technologist and has met or exceed the regulatory CLIA testing personnel requirements.

Education: Bachelor or Associate of Science degree in Medical Technology, Medical Lab Sciences or related field.

Required License / Credentials: ASCP/ASMT/NCA/HHS/ASPT and other related certification preferred; Board-eligible for MT or MLT certification.

Other Required Skills: Excellent customer service skills, computer, math, verbal, reasoning and written skills at college level. Requires instrumentation and manual skills which require practice to become proficient, routinely acquired during the training period.

Bi-Weekly Hours: 80

Work Schedule: Evening shift 1400-2230 rotating weekends, 2 holidays/yr.

The minimum starting rate for this position is $32.81
