Job summary

Patient First is seeking a Laboratory Technician to provide accurate and timely lab results, assist with patient care, and follow quality control procedures. The role requires strong communication, venipuncture skills, and CPR certification, with opportunities to support physicians and nurses in a fast-paced center.

The position involves operating medical/lab equipment, handling specimens, and maintaining records, with potential for center-wide responsibilities and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Able to communicate well verbally and in writing.
• Minimum typing experience.
• High school graduate with specified college hours or degree in chemistry/biology/clinical lab science or related training.
• Two years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Medical Technology principles and test methods.
• Proficiency in venipuncture and specimen collection.
• Annual CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality and rapid lab results with proper procedures.
• Follow specimen collection, handling, processing, reporting, and records maintenance.
• Adhere to quality control policies and document calibrations/maintenance.
• Order and manage lab, x-ray, and medical supplies as needed.
• Assist Physicians, Extenders, and Nurses with patient care and vital signs.
