Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital & Medical Center in Hartford, CT, invites applications for a position in the Automated Lab Team. You will perform and report a wide range of routine and highly complex analyses across multiple lab sections, directly affecting patient diagnosis, treatment decisions, and outcomes.

The role requires a BS or AS in medical technology with MT-ASCP/MLT-ASCP or eligibility, 40-hour days, and a supportive benefits package including first-day health coverage.

Qualifications

• BS in Medical Technology or AS in Medical Lab Technology
• MT-ASCP or MLT-ASCP, or eligible to take Certification exam and achieve certification within the first year of employment

Responsibilities

• Determines normal and abnormal components of body fluids by conducting chemical analyses of blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices.
• Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells, using microscopic techniques and procedures
• Ensures operation of analyzers and all laboratory equipment by calibrating; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
