Job summary

CalvertHealth Medical Center's CMC Lab is seeking a Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician to perform comprehensive testing across hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis and microbiology. The candidate will operate instruments under supervision, ensuring accuracy and quality in patient results.

Requirements include a MT-related degree and certification; senior-year MT students may be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related BS with MT/MLS certificate, or Associate degree in MT with BS.
• Senior-year students in MT may be accepted."
• ASCP, AMT, NCA or equivalent preferred; certification required before blood bank work.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate results in hematology, serology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology and other areas as designated under supervision.
• Demonstrate knowledge of techniques, principals and instruments and their inter-relationships.
• Communicate effectively with patients and staff and uphold quality and safety standards.
