Job summary

Sunrise Medical Laboratories, Inc. in Hicksville, NY seeks a full-time Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician for 1st shift. You will perform high and moderate complexity testing with hematology, coagulation, urinalysis and blood bank analyzers, and report results.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related field with MT training, NYS license, and 1 year of lab experience. Competitive benefits and 401(k) await. Position includes PTO and paid holidays.

LOCATION: 250 Miller Place, Hicksville, NY 11801

HOURS: 8:30am - 5:00pm; Monday to Friday w/alternating Saturdays

PAY RATE: MT $38.00 to $54.00 per hour (depending on experience) and MLT $30.00 to $49.00 per hour (depending on experience) Sign On Bonus Eligible

In this role, you will:

• Perform a vital part of the patient care process through moderate and high complexity testing using state of the art hematology, coagulation, urinalysis and blood bank analyzers
• Analyze, review, and report testing results
• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

All you need is:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology
• or Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science with 1 year of Medical Technology training
• 1 year of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing
• NYS License (Medical Technologist OR Medical Lab Technician)
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
• Bonus points if you’ve got: 2+ years of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing within area of specialty
