Job summary

WMCH Weirton Medical Center in Weirton, WV is hiring a Medical Technologist to perform and analyze clinical laboratory tests across all disciplines, following SOPs and quality criteria. The role requires current licensure as required by state boards, a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related science, and preferred ASCP/AMT certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Medical (Clinical) Laboratory Science or related science, or 30+ years of CLIA grandfathered experience.
• Licensure per state board where services are provided (WV requires HCTP or Trainee).
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process and analyze patient samples in a timely manner following SOPs and quality criteria.
• Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments per policy.
• Perform quality control and infection control procedures.
• Carry out phlebotomy as needed and document findings to nurses/physicians.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safety and hospital policies.
