Job summary

WTZ Wetzel County Hospital is seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Professional to perform and analyze clinical laboratory tests across disciplines in accordance with SOPs. The role requires state licensure (WV HCTP or trainee) and a BS in Medical Technology or equivalent.

Experience with QC, instrument maintenance, and phlebotomy is preferred. The successful candidate will contribute to accurate results, safety compliance, and collaboration with nurses and physicians to support patient care

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or related field.
• Advanced licensure: WV HCTP or trainee license as required by state.
• Other state licenses as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Process and analyze samples accurately following SOPs.
• Set up, run, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments.
• Perform quality control and infection control procedures.
• May perform quality control summaries.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures as needed.
• Document results and report findings to nurses and physicians.
• Interact with healthcare staff to interpret patient data.
• Maintain records for patient samples and testing procedures.

Education

BS in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science

BA/BS in chemical or biological science or 30+ years experience with CLIA grandfathered exception
