Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore is seeking a Medical Technologist to independently perform technical lab procedures, including emergency and routine patient testing, while upholding quality control and preventive maintenance.

The position requires a B.S. with an accredited MT/MLS program and related CLIA training; ASCP certification is preferred. Evening/night shifts include Central Lab Microbiology, Blood Bank, and Stat Microbiology responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must have a B.S. and accredited MT/MLS program.
• Chemistry or Biology degree with CLIA training acceptable.
• ASCP MT/MLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical procedures including emergency and routine patient testing, quality control, and preventive maintenance.
• Participate in Quality management processes as needed.
• Qualify as a General Supervisor designate per CLIA in the absence of the Section Supervisor or Manager.
• Shift covers Central Lab Microbiology; Night shift covers Blood Bank and Stat Microbiology.
