Job summary

Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join the Blood Bank department for the evening shift. The role involves performing a broad range of tests, recording results, and ensuring quality control in a fast-paced hospital lab.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's in Medical Technology, MT(ASCP) eligibility, and at least one year of accredited clinical lab experience, with strong LIS familiarity and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Medical Technology or equivalent related field required.
• 1 year of experience in an accredited clinical laboratory required.
• Statistics, interpersonal and communication skills, and LIS knowledge desirable.
• MT(ASCP) registry or eligible required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine technical procedures following SOPs.
• Accurately conduct tests and report results in LIS.
• Maintain equipment and monitor quality control standards.
• Troubleshoot instrument issues and assist with QC and safety.
• Ensure proper inventory and safety practices.
