An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Medical Technologist Associate to join their team. Medical Technologist Associate performs routine and STAT testing procedures using laboratory equipment and/or reagents under the direct supervision of a Medical Technologist. A three (3) month rotation of each department will be completed with successful competency. Departments include Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology (Urinalysis, Coagulation, Hematology, Serology) and limited Microbiology is required.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY
A Bachelor of Science degree obtained in a Biological or Chemical subject with at least thirty-five (35) semester hours of coursework across various subjects related to the clinical laboratory sciences, such as biological science, microbiology, organic chemistry, biochemistry, mathematics, etc. is required. Applicant shall have graduated with a baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by a recognized regional or national accreditation agency.
EXPERIENCE
None required. One year working under close supervision. Completion of a one (1) year clinical rotation including Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology (Urinalysis, Coagulation, Hematology, Serology) and limited Microbiology is required. The Medical Technology Associate will have a three (3) month rotation in each department with a competency signed off by the department supervisor, director, and medical director. With completion of the one (1) year period, a West Virginia Medical Technologist license must be obtained permitted every department is signed off as completed and competent. If after the one (1) year training period, subject to termination may apply given when the competency of any department is incomplete or unattainable.
