Job summary

TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield, Tennessee is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform comprehensive laboratory analyses across disciplines including microbiology, chemistry, serology, and hematology. This role supports accurate diagnoses by ensuring sample quality, analyzing cells, and maintaining LIS data integrity.

The position emphasizes quality control, equipment maintenance, timely handling of STAT orders, and effective communication with physicians, nurses, and clients.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills.
• Current Medical Technologist licensure.

Responsibilities

• Analyze body fluids across microbiology, chemistry, serology, toxicology, urinalysis, coagulation, blood gases, special chemistry, and therapeutic drug monitoring to aid diagnosis.
• Microscopic analysis of human cells related to hematology and clinical microscopy.
• Analyze human blood in immunohematology to support blood supply and diagnosis.
• Identify pathogenic organisms from infection sites across microbiology, mycology, mycobacteriology, virology, parasitology.
• Perform QC, maintenance, and troubleshooting of analyzers and testing methods to ensure result quality.
• Enter data in LIS, accession patients, and verify results in LIS.
• Communicate test results to physicians, nurses, and clients (panic values).
• Perform phlebotomies to obtain samples when needed.
• Answer calls from clients, physicians, and nursing staff.
• Assist in inventory, ordering, and supplies.
