Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care in West Memphis, AR is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist to perform and report standard laboratory procedures to support patient care.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in MLS/MT, national certification, and basic computer literacy; ASCP is preferred. You will manage specimens, ensure quality control, and contribute to student instruction and training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree MLS/MT from an accredited program.
• National certification required in line with Federal and/or State Regulations.
• Basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Receives, identifies, organizes, and prioritizes specimens for accurate test processing.
• Performs and reports laboratory procedures as defined.
• Maintains quality control, proficiency testing, routine instrument maintenance and inventory control.
• Evaluates patient identification to reduce analytical and post-analytical error and/or adverse patient outcomes.
• Supports life long learning.
• Completes assigned goals.
• Provides instruction for personnel and medical technology students, as required.
