Required is a Bachelor's degree in MLS/MT and national certification; ASCP certification is preferred. This role emphasizes accurate specimen handling, quality control, and ongoing professional development within a hospital laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) or Medical Technology (MT) from an accredited program.
• National certification in accordance with current Federal and/or State regulations.
• ASCP certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives, identifies, organizes, and prioritizes specimens for accurate test processing.
• Performs and reports laboratory procedures as required.
• Maintains quality control, proficiency testing, routine instrument maintenance, and inventory control.
• Assesses patient identification to reduce errors.
• Evaluates results and draws conclusions.
• Supports lifelong learning and completes assigned goals.
• Provides instruction for personnel and students as required.
• Responsible for assigned shifts and overtime/callback as required.

Responsibilities

• Receives, identifies, organizes, and prioritizes specimen to ensure accurate and timely test processing.
• Performs and reports requested laboratory procedures.
• Performs quality control, proficiency testing, routine instrument maintenance and inventory control.
• Evaluates positive patient identification to reduce analytical and post-analytical error and/or adverse patient outcomes.
• Assesses, evaluates and draws appropriate conclusions.
• Supports life long learning.
• Completes assigned goals.
• Provide instruction for personnel and medical technology students, as required.
