Job summary

Baptist seeks a Medical Technologist to perform and report defined laboratory procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. You will receive, identify, organize, and prioritize specimens, and support efficient laboratory operations.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in MLS/MT, two years of experience, and state licensure or national certification (ASCP, NCA, AMT). Basic computer literacy; ASCP certification preferred. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician.
• Bachelor's degree Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) or Medical Technology (MT).
• State licensure and/or national registration or certification per current Federal/State Regulations (ASCP; NCA; AMT).
• ASCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives, identifies, organizes and prioritizes specimens for accurate and timely test processing.
• Performs and reports laboratory procedures as requested.
• Performs quality control, proficiency testing, routine instrument maintenance and inventory control.
• Evaluates positive patient identification to reduce errors and adverse outcomes.
• Assesses, evaluates and draws conclusions from results.
• Evaluates technical methods and procedures.
• Executes effective and efficient Laboratory operations.
• Supports lifelong learning and completes assigned goals.

Recommends and evaluates technical methods and procedures. Executes effective and efficient Laboratory operations. Works assigned shifts and subject to overtime and call back as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
