Job summary

American Esoteric Labs in Knoxville, TN is seeking a medical laboratory professional to perform moderate to high complexity testing, analyze results, and report findings in a patient-care focused environment. The role runs 6 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday–Friday with rotating weekends, offering full-time benefits and growth opportunities.

The ideal candidate holds an AMA-approved MLT program or a BS in Medical Technology for MT, TN licensure, and ASCP certification or eligibility, with 6 months of lab

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with AMA-approved Medical Laboratory training to qualify as MLT.
• BS in Medical Technology or AMA-approved MT program qualification.
• Current TN licensure as MLT or MT.
• ASCP certification or eligibility.
• 6 months of laboratory training or experience.
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to operate general lab equipment including analyzers, centrifuges, pipettes.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Perform a vital part of the patient care process through moderate and high complexity testing
• Analyze, review, and report testing results
• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

All you need is:

• High school diploma or equivalent and the completion of an AMA-approved Medical Laboratory training program to qualify as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
• OrBachelor of Science degree or equivalent preferred and completion of an AMA-approved program of Medical Technology to qualify as a Medical Technologist (MT)
• Current TN licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT).
• Certification or eligible by ASCP or equivalent
• 6 months of laboratory training or experience
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
