This medical technologist works as part of a dynamic team to perform routine automated and manual procedures, verify and report test requests, troubleshoot analyzers and test methods, review quality control values and results. Technologists handle phone inquiries from internal and external customers, call critical value results, and resolve pre-analytical issues. All employees work under the direction of division directors, managers, and lead technologists.
4-year college degree or higher from a NAACLS-accredited program or equivalent. Medical Laboratory Technicians with an Associate of Science from an appropriate program will also be considered for hire as Med Lab Tech- Testing.
Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with ASCP/AMT, MT, or MLS certification is required. Certification is a condition of employment. If not certified, the applicant must obtain MLS certification within 1 year of hire, with the first certification exam within the first six months.
