The Medical Laboratory Technician performs routine automated and manual procedures, verifies and reports test requests and results. Handles phone inquiries regarding patient results, specimen collection, and testing frequency. RRL staff uses the laboratory computer system to review reports and call critical values to healthcare professionals. Laboratory staff performs and documents quality control, quality assurance, and preventative maintenance on instrumentation. The laboratory also provides training for new staff and medical technology students. Medical laboratory technologists work under the direction of the Lab manager and lead technologist.
