Medical Technologist (Day shift) - Austin, TX

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Technologist to join a top-tier hospital in Austin.

Key Responsibilities :

• Ensure the suitability of specimens and verify patient demographic information.
• Perform and evaluate routine and specialized lab procedures , ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
• Recognize abnormal test results and implement appropriate problem-solving procedures.
• Provide age-appropriate care using the correct protocols and instrumentation.
• Respond quickly to emergency situations and STAT requests to ensure timely care delivery.
• Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot specimen issues and maintain quality standards.
• Document all clinical information accurately and report quality control concerns as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements :

• Education : Bachelor's Degree in Business, Purchasing, Materials Management, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain, Nursing, or a related healthcare / technical field.
• Experience : Minimum 5 years of recent experience in a laboratory setting.
• Specialized Skills : Blood bank experience (pediatric preferred) and coagulation testing expertise.
• Technical Proficiency : Familiarity with laboratory operations and equipment such as blood analyzers, centrifuges, gamma cell irradiators, microscopes, and more.
• Certification (Required) : Must hold one of the following :

MT-STATE, MT-AAB, MT-AMT, CLSP, IMLS, BB-ASCP, C-ASCP, H-ASCP, MLS-ASCP, MT-ASCP, M-ASCP, MB-ASCP, or MP-ASCP.

• Schedule : Full time, Day shift, 7 am-3 : 30 pm with rotating weekends, some holidays
• Compensation : Starting at $43 / hour (based on experience) + benefits
