Description

Athena Care is currently seeking a Medical Technician for our Franklin clinic, with a schedule of Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM.

Job Type: Full-time

Description

The Medical Technician will provide front desk support and serve as a back-up for patient needs related to labs, vitals, and phone calls.

  • Greets incoming patients and assists with check-in process
  • Answers calls or contact forms from patients, engaging professionally and courteously
  • Provides excellent customer service through any contact mode as needed
  • Assists with interventional treatments as directed and according to policy
  • Orders and maintains inventory of controlled substances per DEA and FDA guidelines
  • Performs laboratory procedures such as drug screens, venipuncture, vital signs, and other tests
  • Monitors messages, calls, and faxes for patient inquiries, delegating information appropriately
  • Supports patients based on therapeutic best practices
  • Documents accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Follows scheduling procedures and supports intake processes
  • Ensures compliance with all policies, including patient confidentiality and regulatory requirements (OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior healthcare experience preferred
  • Prior phlebotomy experience strongly preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current Medical Assistant or phlebotomy certification preferred
  • Current BLS certification preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of medications, medical procedures, and HIPAA compliance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EMR systems
  • Verbal communication, listening, data entry, people skills, informing, customer service, attention to detail, professionalism, multi-tasking
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent reaching, pulling, pushing, or carrying up to 10 lbs; occasional up to 50 lbs
  • Use of medical equipment like stethoscopes and needles
  • Routine use of phone systems, video monitoring, and walking/standing/sitting

Salary: $20.00 per hour
