The role emphasizes courteous communication, accurate message taking, and responsiveness to urgent calls. Prior experience is welcome but not required; medical office exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-3 years of experience preferred, entry level.
• Medical setting preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming calls and connects callers to the correct extension.
• Takes and relays messages accurately and promptly.
• Responds to urgent calls from patients in a timely manner.
• Directs callers to clinical staff as needed.
• Performs switchboard duties including triaging, transferring, and setting up conference calls.
• Maintains a courteous and helpful phone presence.
• Opens and closes the switchboard and manages the in-house paging system.
• Performs clerical duties to support department workflow.
