Job summary

Lifepoint Health® is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Medical-Surgical unit in Alabama. This role provides direct patient care using the nursing process, reports to department leadership, and collaborates with the care team to implement plans of care.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in nursing is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• Current RN license in state of practice; BCLS required.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
