Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical-Surgical unit (R4) with a 1:5–6 nurse-to-patient ratio. The unit handles a variety of adult medical-surgical diagnoses with a fast-paced environment and requires strong communication within the care team.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in good standing (Illinois RN license referenced) and BLS within 30 days.
• ACLS within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties of unit as per scope of service and maintains accurate documentation of nursing care.
• Performs initial patient assessment and develops plan of care.
• Implements plan of care and nursing interventions; updates plan based on patient needs.
• Communicates with team to resolve issues and supports professional development of peers.
• Delegates tasks to assistive personnel and validates completion.
• Ensures medication administration follows the Five Rights; maintains patient safety and fall precautions.
