Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced RN for the Medical-Surgical unit (R4) with a $10,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants. The unit serves adults 17+, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6 in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include assessments, medication administration, IV insertions, telemetry, wound care, and EMR documentation. Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans and ensure safe admissions and discharges.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing; Illinois or compact license as required.
• BLS within 30 days; ACLS within 1 year of hire.
• College Diploma in Nursing; prior med-surg experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial assessment and develop care plans per unit standards.
• Administer medications, monitor vitals, and document in EMR.
• Provide safe patient care, coordinate with the care team, and ensure timely admissions/discharges.
