Job summary

Texas Health Dallas seeks a Registered Nurse in Medical Surgical Oncology for full-time day shifts from 7A to 7P. You will care for oncology patients, including end-of-life care, in a 30-bed inpatient unit with self-scheduling and rotating weekends. BSN preferred and Texas RN license required.

Eligibility includes BCLS, CPI training, and other certifications as preferred. Dallas-based hospital proud of Magnet designation and comprehensive cancer care services.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program Or Diploma Nurse Program Completion.
• BSN preferred.
• One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
• One year of oncology/hospice experience preferred.
• RN must practice within the Texas Nurse Practice Act and coordinate for quality patient care.
• BCLS training prior to independent patient care and quarterly maintenance.
• CPI training maintained annually.
• CRRN/CNRN/ONC certifications preferred on hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures.
• Initiates information for patient/family needs.
• Maintains continuity of patient care across shifts and transfers.
