Delaware Technical Community College is seeking a Clinical Adjunct Instructor in Medical-Surgical at the Stanton Campus in Newark, DE. The role supports nursing programs with day or evening clinical options and requires 18 contact hours weekly under the supervision of department leadership.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Nursing, a Delaware RN license, and four years of adult medical-surgical nursing experience; Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Master’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Four (4) years or relevant work experience in nursing that includes primary focus in adult medical surgical.
• Possession of, or eligibility for, a valid license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Delaware or compact state at time of application and during employment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of subject matter in areas of nursing, teaching methods, clinical skills, and nursing protocol; ability to communicate subject matter to a diverse population; ability to function in clinical setting without limitation.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and instructs courses as assigned, utilizing effective instructional strategies and LMS to promote student success. Normal teaching contact hours per week are 18, unless modified.
• Demonstrates best practices in instruction and classroom management for diverse student needs.
• Uses instructional technology to meet learning objectives and enhance engagement.
• Assists or leads in planning and developing curriculum and courses; evaluates and revises existing curriculum; contributes to program review.
• Participates in Student Learning Outcomes Assessment (SLOA) planning and implementation.
• Serves as an advisor to promote student retention and progression.
• Provides outreach and tutoring to help students complete courses successfully.
• Maintains six posted office hours per week and accurate student records in LMS.
