This role requires all team members to hold one of the following current or active certifications: California Certified Phlebotomy Technician 1 License (CPT1), California Certified Phlebotomy Technician 2 License (CPT2), California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (CLS), or California Medical Laboratory Technician License (MLT).

About the Role

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and work as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. Responsibilities include:

  • Determining donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
  • Managing donor adverse events, evaluating donor reactions, and following standard operating procedures for medical emergencies.
  • Reviewing laboratory test results and notifying donors of unsuitable results.
  • Referring to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
  • Supporting Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Managing employee incidents and coordinating with occupational health/ER when further evaluation is required.
  • Servicing as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and supporting investigations related to pandemic threats.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Completed FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • Current license or certification in the state where duties will be assigned: Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT1 or CPT2), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
  • Familiarity with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment.
Compensation and Benefits

Location: USA - CA - Rialto

Hourly wage range: $38.72 - $53.24. The actual wage offered will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
