Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; nursing program graduate may be considered.
• Current state licensure as RN/LPN/LVN or EMT credentials.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility; manage informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history, physical exam, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical guidance on donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees where applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and assess need for occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.
• May serve as Pandemic Coordinator as authorized by EHS and assist investigations.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

RN/LPN/LV N license (nursing license)

EMT licensure (EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P)

CPR and AED certification

IV therapy qualification

Two years clinical/hospital experience
