Job summary

Marshall University is seeking a Learning Specialist for the JCESOM Medical HELP Program to support medical students and physicians in improving study and test-taking skills through targeted curricula delivered via virtual and in-person formats.

The role includes developing curricula, leading individual and group sessions, and collaborating with JCESOM staff and the HELP Program Director to monitor progress and enhance student success and retention.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree required.
• Experience leading groups and individual sessions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to design and revise curricula based on feedback.

Responsibilities

• Lead one-on-one in-person and/or virtual sessions for students to improve study and test-taking skills.
• Lead group cohorts and classes to enhance reading, note-taking, memory, and test strategies.
• Develop and revise curricula based on research and student feedback.
• Collaborate with HELP Program Director and JCESOM staff to identify student needs and report progress.
• Maintain schedules, keep administrative time, and track student outcomes.
• Represent the program at university events and professional functions.
