Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology is looking to hire a Medical Student Coordinator to support and enhance undergraduate medical education initiatives. This role coordinates fourth-year medical student electives, undergraduate clinical and research opportunities, and a variety of educational programs within the Division. The incumbent partners with faculty, learners, and university stakeholders to oversee curriculum planning, project management, course logistics, policy implementation, and program operations. Responsibilities also include coordinating orientations, scheduling, learner assessments and evaluations, and ensuring the successful delivery of medical education programs through effective communication and collaboration.

Annual range: $70,900.00-$145,200.00

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Comprehensive understanding of LCME accreditation policy.
  • Proficient with or ability to quickly learn Microsoft Office programs, and dean's office database management programs and web based applications .
  • 3+ years experience coordinating an educational program(s) in an academic medical center
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Presents and expresses ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to the audience, whether oral or written. Actively listens to what others are saying to achieve understanding. Shares information with others and facilitates the open exchange of ideas and information.
  • Ability to manage confidential information discreetly and responsibly ; ability to follow FERPA regulations.
  • Open to change and new information; adapts behavior and wok methods in response to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles.
  • Acclimates quickly to new situations warranting attention and resolution.
  • Demonstrated commitment to knowledge development/professional development.
  • High degree of initiative and independent judgement
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills; st rong attention to detail. Ability to complete work and meet established deadlines in an accurate and timely manner, and to manage short and competing deadlines .
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interact collegially with faculty, staff, learners, and outside contacts at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate medical, policy and administrative information in English.

Preferred:

  • Comprehensive understanding of UCLA policy and procedures.
