Job summary

Amgen is seeking a senior Medical Leader to drive the U.S. Cardiovascular & Metabolic Medical strategy, including launch readiness for obesity-related therapies. This role requires leading cross-functional teams with Global Medical partners to translate global strategy into a robust U.S.

medical plan. The successful candidate will have deep cardiometabolic expertise, proven engagement with clinicians and payers, and a track record in evidence-generation and launch readiness within a matrixed

Qualifications

• Doctorate/Masters/Bachelor degree with required years of Medical Affairs, clinical research, or cardiometabolic science experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead U.S. CVM Medical strategy, focusing on launch readiness and CV readiness.
• Build an integrated CVM narrative linking obesity with broader care continuum.
• Identify evidence gaps and set priorities for RWE, HEOR, and access-use evidence generation.
• Synthesize customer, field, market, and medical insights to guide decisions across Medical, Brand, and Access teams.
• Develop external-engagement plans with cardiologists, HF specialists, payers, and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Global Medical and cross-functional teams to translate evidence into U.S. strategy.
• Oversee medical communications, publications, congress plans, and medical education.
• Support clinical trial activities and data interpretation as a U.S. Medical interface with Global teams.
