Job summary

Amgen seeks an Asset Medical Lead Medical Director for Cardiovascular & Metabolic Strategy to drive the U.S. CVM medical plan for obesity and related conditions.

You’ll coordinate cross-functional teams with Global Medical, Clinical Development, and access teams to shape strategy and execution, ensuring evidence generation and launch readiness. You’ll lead strategic planning, engage cardiologists and payers, and influence policy, reimbursement, and education efforts while upholding governance

Qualifications

• Doctorate or equivalent with 4+ years in Medical Affairs or related research.
• Advanced degree (PharmD/PhD/MD) with cardiometabolic disease experience.
• Experience in U.S. Medical Affairs and engagement with clinicians, payers, and societies.
• Knowledge of launch readiness, evidence-generation plans, and HEOR.
• Strong communication and cross-functional leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead U.S. CVM Medical strategy with emphasis on weight management and CV readiness.
• Define evidence gaps and align local evidence with global plans.
• Synthesize insights to inform medical, brand, and access decisions.
• Develop external-engagement plans with cardiologists, payers, and societies.
• Collaborate with Global Medical and Development to translate evidence into strategy.
• Lead or support advisory boards and implementation-science initiatives.
• Provide medical input on reimbursement, policy, and promotional discussions.
• Represent Medical in leadership and cross-functional governance.
