Job summary

Centerpoint Health - Winchester Hospital is seeking a Medical Staff Coordinator to organize credentialing, onboarding and medical staff functions within a supportive care team. You’ll liaise with hospital administration, medical staff and the Governing Body to ensure regulatory compliance and smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• 1 year experience in a Medical office setting preferred.
• Strong critical thinking and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; professional interactions.

Responsibilities

• Complete Provider credentialing and onboarding scheduling.
• Schedule meetings, conferences, events, appointments and travel.
• Assist with Locum recruitment and scheduling.
• Complete affiliation verifications.
• Support Medical Staff Functions and by-laws implementation as needed.
• Prepare correspondence, forms, reports, and presentations.
• Receive, screen, and route visitors and telephone calls.
• Respond to inquiries and follow-up on problems.

What We're Looking For

The Medical Staff Coordinator assist medical staff organization in the activities of the organization with knowledge of regulatory and/or accrediting agencies, interpreting standards and implementing change. Responsible for medical staff credentialing process. Acts as a liaison between health system administration, medical staff, hospital staff and the Governing Body. This role reports to the Director of Physician Practices.

How You'll Contribute

• Complete Provider credentialing and Provider onboarding scheduling.
• Schedule and coordinate meetings, conferences, special events, appointments and travel arrangements.
• Assist with Locum recruitment and is responsible for Locum scheduling.
• Complete affiliation verifications.
• Other miscellaneous Medical Staff Functions such as interpreting/implementing Medical Staff Bylaws and assisting Providers as needed.
• Compose, type, and transcribe correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials and other written communications.
• Receive, screen, and route visitors and telephone calls.
• Respond to, escalation, and follow up on inquiries and problems as appropriate.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's degree or higher preferred.
• 1 year experience in a Medical office setting preferred.
• Required Skills:
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Works independently with proven organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and exercise sound judgment
  • Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Schedule

Monday-Friday; 8am-4:30pm; must be available for monthly meetings that begin at 7-7:30am and quarterly meetings 5:30pm-8:00pm; no call; no weekends; no holidays
