Job summary

The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc., part of Mass General Brigham, is seeking a Spanish Interpreter to provide medical interpretation for clinical and non-clinical encounters, assisting patients and families who are limited English proficient and/or hearing impaired and clinicians and hospital staff.

Interpretation will be provided in person or by telephone in compliance with National Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics, Brigham and Women's Hospital policies, and Interpreter Services

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal, required.
• Two years of healthcare related experience in a position of direct patient contact preferred.
• Knowledge of culture-specific care.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical interpretation for clinical and non-clinical encounters to enable communication between patients, families and clinicians.
• Interprets in person or by telephone in compliance with standards and hospital policies.
• Support patient safety and access to quality care through accurate interpretation.
