Pay: $28-35 an hour

Responsibilities

The Medical Social Worker provides medical social services under the direction of a physician and Interdisciplinary Group, assisting with understanding social and emotional factors related to the patient's health and developing coping mechanisms.

• Assist patients, significant others, physicians, and healthcare team members in understanding personal, emotional, environmental, and social factors impacting health.
• Contribute to the development of a comprehensive, integrated Plan of Care for patients.
• Instruct healthcare team members on community resources to assist patients.
• Function as Bereavement Coordinator and supervise bereavement services as needed.
• Establish a bereavement care plan addressing needs up to 13 months post-patient death, with clear services and frequency.

Education and Experience

License Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in social work from an accredited school or in psychology, sociology, or related field with supervised MSW.
• One year of social work experience in healthcare.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid Driver's License, vehicle insurance, and access to transportation.

Additional State Specific Requirements

• MN: Must be licensed as a Social Worker from the State Board of Social Work.
