Baptist is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our clinical team in Tennessee. The role involves handling specimens, performing defined lab procedures, and reporting results to support optimal patient outcomes.

Ideal candidates hold an MLS/MT degree, have at least two years of relevant experience, and possess or pursue appropriate licensure. Strong computer literacy and teamwork are required to maintain quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience as Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician.
• Bachelor's degree in MLS/MT from an accredited program.
• State licensure and/or national certification per current regulations.

Responsibilities

• Receives, identifies, organizes and prioritizes specimens to ensure accurate and timely test processing.
• Performs and reports requested laboratory procedures.
• Performs quality control, proficiency testing, routine instrument maintenance and inventory control.
• Evaluates positive patient identification to reduce errors and adverse outcomes.
• Assesses, evaluates and draws appropriate conclusions.
• Maintains and improves laboratory operations.

Utilizes laboratory skills to perform and report results of clearly defined laboratory procedures assuring optimal patient outcomes. Performs other duties as assigned. Recommends and evaluates technical methods and procedures. Executes effective and efficient Laboratory operations. Works assigned shifts and subject to overtime and call back as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
