Job Overview

This position supports daily secretarial, office, supply ordering, and operational tasks for a single site, including planning, organizing, and staffing. It involves scheduling work for physician support and managing operational workflows.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of healthcare experience, including staffing and scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • Three (3) years of healthcare experience, including staffing and scheduling.
  • Medical transcription experience.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handle routine administrative duties in the Medical Office.
  • Verify insurance and educate patients about their insurance status.
  • Complete insurance authorizations and pre-certifications.
  • Communicate with patients regarding financial responsibilities and collections.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain office records.
  • Obtain insurance billing information and stay updated on policies.
  • Greet and direct patients, visitors, and vendors, maintaining professionalism.
  • Manage documentation and patient correspondence.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and order office supplies.
  • Register patients in the system and process insurance documentation.
  • Communicate with patients, physicians, and insurance companies regarding authorizations.
  • Determine procedure costs, educate patients on financial options, and collect payments.
  • Balance collections and post to patient accounts, turn in monies to cashier.
  • Provide patient education on office guidelines.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent sitting, occasional standing, lifting 10-15 lbs.
  • Exposure to dust and typical office discomforts.
  • Manual dexterity for keyboard use, visual and auditory ability to read reports and hear instructions.
