Job description

Medical Assistant - Family Practice - Medford

This role focuses on providing medical and clinical support services to patients. Responsibilities include preparing patient rooms, escorting patients, taking vitals, assisting physicians, educating patients on specimen collection, and performing clerical duties to support clinical operations.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, Medical Assistant certification from a recognized body, BLS certification (or obtaining it within three months), and at least two years of Medical Assistant experience. Preferred qualifications include three years of experience, bilingual abilities, and experience with electronic medical records.

Key duties involve managing patient flow, preparing medical records, assisting with examinations and procedures, performing vital signs and specimen collection, conducting Point of Care Testing, and supporting administrative tasks such as billing and referrals. Physical requirements include lifting, standing, and exposure to infectious materials. Skills needed encompass organizational ability, computer literacy, interpersonal skills, and knowledge of patient safety and confidentiality.
