Job summary

UCLA Health is seeking a Medical Scribe in Santa Monica to support physicians in the Ophthalmology clinic. You will document patient-physician interactions, prepare electronic charts, and assist with clinic administration to keep the physician moving smoothly.

Responsibilities include reviewing records for accuracy, explaining After Visit Summaries, and coordinating the provider's schedule. Prior EMR experience (Medhost/EPIC/Cerner) is preferred, with per diem hours Thursdays and Fridays 8am-5pm.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

In this Medical Scribe role, you will support our physicians in the Santa Monica Ophthalmology clinic. You will be responsible for keeping the physician moving in the office and medical record support services. Duties include, but not limited to:

• Document patient-physician interaction while patients are being examined
• Prepare electronic charts of upcoming new and established patients
• Review patient records and charts for accuracy
• Review After Visit Summary with patients and provide educational materials
• Review the provider's schedule
• Assist with general administrative work when not scribing

Salary Range: $26.94/hour

This is a per diem "as needed" employment. May convert to Career.

Anticipated work schedule is Thursdays and Fridays 8am-5pm, but schedule may vary depending on physician needs.

Preferred:

• Scribe or related physician support experience.
• Previous experience with electronic medical records such as Medhost, EPIC, Cerner, etc.
• Detailed knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to distinguish different exams and medical diagnoses.
