Bridgeview Eye Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe to support physicians in a busy clinical setting. You will document ophthalmic exams, record diagnoses and prescriptions, and convey patient instructions to ensure smooth clinic operations.
The role requires a high school diploma and experience with EMR is preferred. Prior ophthalmic scribe or technician experience is desirable, and duties include coordinating scheduling and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
The primary responsibility of the Ophthalmic Scribe is to support the physician in the clinical setting by enhancing efficiency and productivity. The ideal candidate will anticipate physician needs, communicate effectively with both patients and staff, and multitask seamlessly to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Accurately and thoroughly document ophthalmic exams and procedures as performed by the physician
Record appropriate diagnoses, symptoms, prescriptions, and follow-up instructions as directed by the physician
Provide patients and/or family members with self-care and follow-up instructions as communicated by the physician
Coordinate patient scheduling and maintain clinic flow, clearly communicating any delays
Perform additional duties as assigned by the department manager, facility administrator, or physician(s)
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience as an ophthalmic scribe or technician preferred
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
Physical Activity: Standing for extended periods, talking, and hearing
Physical Requirements: Primarily sedentary work, involving sitting most of the time
Visual Requirements: Close visual acuity required to perform tasks accurately
