  • Comfort with EMR systems and MS Office; strong typing and data-entry skills.

Responsibilities

  • Accompany ophthalmologists during patient exams, documenting every detail of the visit in real time within the EMR.
  • Record patient histories, chief complaints, exam findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions.
  • Enter ophthalmic test results, imaging reports, and procedure documentation.
  • Prep patient charts ahead of appointments by reviewing prior records and diagnostic testing.
  • Assist with orders for medications, labs, imaging, and referrals as directed by the physician.
  • Keep patient records accurate, complete, and HIPAA-compliant.
  • Team up with clinical staff to keep patient flow moving efficiently.
  • Support documentation-related administrative tasks as needed.

What You’ll Do:

What You Bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree a plus.
  • Experience as a medical scribe, ophthalmic technician, or in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Familiarity with ophthalmic terminology and anatomy preferred.
  • Comfort with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent typing speed and computer skills.
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
