About Position
- Work Location: 322 Main St, Prospect Hill, NC 27314
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
- Travel: As Needed
Duties -
The
Medical Scribe (Bilingual) plays a critical role in enhancing the efficiency of clinical documentation and improving patient care by collaborating with the clinical team to support a patient center care focus. The Medical Scribe will assist medical providers by observing and documenting patient encounters, documenting clinical information and patient-provider interactions, reviewing record histories, physical exams, assessments, and plans of care as directed by the provider.
The Medical Scribe will manage providers workflow, locate laboratory and imaging results, enter prescriptions and diagnostic test orders, referrals, follow-up appointments, and assist the provider with other clinical activities as needed. This position will assist with pre-visit planning and tracking, must comply with HIPAA and organizational policies regarding patient confidentiality, stay abreast of changes in Employee Health Record (EHR) workflows, medical terminology, and have the ability to document best practices.
The Medical Scribe may be required to float to other Piedmont Health Services’ locations.
English and Spanish proficiency is a requirement.
Qualifications -
Education:
- Minimum High school diploma or equivalent;
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Public Health, Liberal Arts, or related field, preferred;
Experience
- Experience as a Medical Scribe or in a clinical support role, preferred;
- Experience with underserved populations from diverse cultural backgrounds, preferred;
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Commitment to serving low-income, uninsured, and diverse communities;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Aptitude for problem solving;
- Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical workflows;
- Ability to work well independently and collaboratively;
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Athena Practice or Epic); preferred
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Empathetic, respectful, and patient centered approach to care;
Pay Range: $16.43/HR - $22.08/HR
