Job summary

CareNow, an affiliate of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Medical Scribe to document patient encounters in real time and support clinicians in a fast-paced urgent care setting. You will capture histories, exams, procedures and treatment plans, enter orders into the EMR, and help maintain accurate confidential records while supporting clinic workflow.

High attention to detail is essential. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of clinical experience with medical terminology,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of clinical or healthcare experience with medical terminology.
• Strong typing, documentation and computer skills with attention to detail.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Associates or Bachelors degree, Anatomy & Physiology coursework, Medical Scribe or Medical Coding certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Document patient visits in real time including histories, exams, procedures, diagnoses and treatment plans as dictated by the provider.
• Enter orders into the EMR accurately and ensure documentation is complete and precise.
• Create and document telephone encounters and other patient communications under provider direction.
• Ensure documentation reflects clinical findings and E/M level.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced practitioners, escalating questions when needed.
• Maintain organized, confidential electronic medical records and support efficient clinic workflow.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Medical Scribe, youll work side-by-side with providers, documenting patient encounters in real time and helping keep patient care moving efficiently. Every note you complete helps providers focus more on their patients—allowing you to make a meaningful impact behind the scenes while gaining valuable healthcare experience.

In this role you will:

• Document patient visits in real time by accurately capturing medical histories, physical exam nstr findings, procedures, diagnoses, and treatment plans as dictated by the provider.
• Support provider efficiency by entering orders into the electronic medical record (EMR) exactly as instructed and ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
• Create and document telephone encounters and other patient communications under the direction of the provider.
• Ensure medical documentation accurately reflects the providers clinical findings and selected evaluation and management (E&M) level.
• Collaborate closely with physicians and advanced practice providers, escalating clinical questions or documentation concerns promptly for clarification.
• Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential electronic medical records while supporting efficient clinic workflow.

You Should Have:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience in a clinical or healthcare setting with proficiency in medical terminology.
• Strong typing, documentation, and computer skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Associates or Bachelors degree, completion of Anatomy & Physiology coursework, Medical Scribe certification, Medical Coding certification, or prior urgent care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
